Privacy Policy
What PWR BALLS® stores, what leaves your device, and how to take it back.
The short version
PWR BALLS® works without an account. Your profile, targets, food diary, water, steps, weight, measurements, exercise sessions, morning photos and medication records are stored in your own browser on this device.
Six things do leave your device, and only in the circumstances below. Nothing else does.
What leaves your device, and when
This list is written from the code, not from intention. If it is ever incomplete, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.
- world.openfoodfacts.org — You scan or type a barcode. Sends: The barcode digits, and a request identifying the app.
- Supabase (your project) — Only if you create an account and sign in. Sends: Your diary entries, water, steps, weights, measurements, exercise sessions, custom foods, recipes, favourites and settings.
- Brevo (our email provider) — Only if you fill in the register-your-interest form on this website. Sends: Your first name, email address and postcode.
- Google reCAPTCHA — Only on the register-your-interest page, to stop automated sign-ups. Sends: Information about your browser and how you use that page. Google may set a cookie.
- Google Analytics — On the website, and in the tracker as feature counts only. Never on the medications screen. Sends: The pages and screens you view, which tracker features you use (never what you enter), how you arrived, your approximate location and your type of device. It sets cookies (_ga).
- ElevenLabs (Vita, our AI chat assistant) — Only if you tap Ask Vita and send a message. Sends: What you type in the chat, and technical details of your browser.
What never leaves your device
Your morning photos are held in this browser’s local database and are never uploaded — there is no network call in the photo code at all.
Your medication and supplement records are held in a separate store, under their own key. They are not part of the data that syncs to an account: not by a setting that could be switched, but because they are not in the store the sync code reads. A test in the codebase asserts it.
The 4,128-food nutrition database is bundled with the app and searched on your device. Typing in the food search sends nothing anywhere.
What changes if you create an account
An account exists so your data can move between your devices. Signing in starts a background sync that sends the categories listed above to the project’s Supabase database, and pulls back anything newer from your other devices.
Medication records and morning photos are NOT included in that sync and stay on the device they were entered on.
Analytics
This website, including the free tracker, uses Google Analytics so we can see how people find us, which pages lead to sign-ups and which tracker features are used. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga) and sends Google the pages and tracker screens you view, the links you click, the website or link that brought you here, your approximate location (city level) and your type of device and browser.
In the tracker, Google Analytics only counts that a feature was used — for example that you finished setting up, or logged a food, water, steps, a workout or a PWR BALLS® serve, or saved a progress photo. It never receives what you enter: no food names, amounts, weights, measurements, targets, profile answers, photos, notes or barcode numbers. The medications and supplements screen is never measured, and nothing about your medications is ever sent.
We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising. We see totals and reports, not who you are. If you register your interest, Google Analytics records that a sign-up happened, but never your name, email address or postcode. Google may process this information outside Australia. To opt out, block cookies for this website in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Our host, Netlify, also counts page visits from its own server logs, with no script and no cookie, and we see only the totals.
Our email list
If you register your interest, we keep your first name, email address and postcode so we can email you about the PWR BALLS® launch, stockists, products, collaborations and recipes. You are only added to the list after you click the link in our confirmation email.
Your details are held by Brevo, our email provider, on servers in the European Union. We use postcodes to see where interest is, and may share postcode totals with retailers and our manufacturer. We never sell your details, and never share your name or email address.
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete your details, email taste@pwrballs.com.
The register-your-interest page uses Google reCAPTCHA, loaded on that page only, to check that sign-ups come from people. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to it.
Vita, our AI chat assistant
Vita is an AI assistant, not a person. It answers general questions about PWR BALLS® and protein from information we have approved, and it can make mistakes. It does not give medical advice.
Nothing about Vita loads until you tap Ask Vita. When you chat, what you type is sent to ElevenLabs, the company that runs Vita, and processed by the AI model it uses. Chats may be stored and processed outside Australia, including in the United States.
We keep chat transcripts in our ElevenLabs account so we can check and improve Vita’s answers. Please don’t share personal, health or payment details in the chat. To have a chat deleted, email taste@pwrballs.com.
Vita does not collect your email address. If you want launch news, it will point you to the register page.
Your data, and getting rid of it
Settings has controls to export everything as a file, to delete all local data, and to reset onboarding. Deleting local data is immediate and cannot be undone.
Clearing your browser’s site data has the same effect, and will also remove your morning photos.
Children
PWR BALLS® is intended for adults. It is not designed for, or directed at, children.
